Introducing: The Liberatory Livelihood Association

Are you sick of career coaches telling you that you have to “sell yourself” to get a job? Are you sick of business coaches saying that you need to “10x” your business because growth is always good?

What if there are better ways to build a livelihood that meets your needs—more honest, more liberatory, and more aligned with who you really are?

Well, there are better ways to make a living. We launched the Liberatory Livelihood Association to bring those ways to the world.

We are: Heather Luna, Dr. Kimberly Terry, EdD, J. Kay Coughlin, and me!

Our first event was “How to talk about gaps in your resume,” held on 17 June. Almost a dozen people joined us to share their struggles around resume gaps and invasive job interviews. We were honored to share recommendations for how to interview from a place of strength, rather than scarcity.

Our next event is “An Honest Job” on 16 July. This event will challenge your thinking around livelihoods, doing good in the world, a dream job, and what “honest work” is.
